What is the biggest challenge facing the Latin American biofuels industry in the short term (1-3 years)? Latin American countries (other than Brazil) need to create and consolidate their biofuels industry in order to supply local markets and to become key players in the international market. What is the biggest challenge for the industry longer term (3-10 years)? Working on further research and development of non-traditional energy crops that can be used for the production of biofuels. How do you see the region's growth prospects for a) biodiesel and b) ethanol? The production of biodiesel and bioethanol in Latin America will grow dramatically in the near future, particularly given the fact that the region includes countries that are the main producers worldwide of the various feedstocks needed for production.
